I'm a big Bogie fan so I tend to like any movie he is in..but I REALLY liked this movie when I saw it as a teenager a couple of years ago. I tend to like the sad type endings so maybe that is why I liked it so much and I pretty much like anything when Bogart plays a gangster. I can understand why some people don't like it..its not his best I don't think, but for me I try to watch it whenever its on. The lead lady Ida...I felt like I could sympathized with her and I enjoyed her.

i noticed there to be some really rough cutting in this movie, especially as he walked out to the side of the car, and as in the scene where he was shaving and calming his hair. but i thought the movie was great by the way. bogart often seem to play a fugitive on the run.

He wasn't really the most intelligent gangster in this one, but I really like this movie too.

Very good. But brick not hit back!
