I see here that those hangars were being built in about 1941

Anybody who's been around NAS North Island must have seen those twin monolith "barrel"-shaped hangars at the north end of the base - seen here briefly in the movie in some of the aerial shots, during what appears to be mid-point construction phase. In fact one of the two hangars is nearing completion, the other one is about half completed.

What's funny is that much later in the film (which reflects a considerable passage of time), when they take a test flight to test some high-altitude equipment, you see the NAS North Island base unfolding below as the test aircraft takes off. Only now, the two hangars are in a much earlier state of construction - barely even started. lol
