Mrs. Dampers

In the scene where Frith tells Maxim about the broken statue in the morning room, it really sounds like Laurence Olivier is saying Mrs. Dampers rather than Danvers, making me wonder if the writers of the Carol Burnett Show picked up on this too and use that rather than Danvers. Of course they change Rebecca to Rebeccy, so perhaps that's just a coincidence. What is very funny is after Mrs. de Winter admits to breaking the statue, the look on Mrs. Danvers' face is one of triumph, knowing that she has total control over the nervous new bride.

"Great theater makes you smile. Outstanding theater may make you weep."
