The Pool
Did anybody else notice how murky and dirty it looked? Were pools really that way in the 1940's? I wouldn't want to swim there!

shareI would imagine that the water was dyed darker in this black and white film to contrast with the surrounding white patio and cabanas just as was done in the film "Top Hat" to distinguish the Venetian water from the big white set of supposedly the bridges and surrounding areas of Venice. Tracy also swam in the pool wearing a white bathing suit and pushed the light colored model of the True Love with its sails through the water.
