Show me the mummy.
For a film that scarcely runs 70 minutes, I was disappointed with all the preamble before we finally get what we've paid to see: a mummy. Kharis doesn't appear until nearly halfway through the picture.
Being a compleatist, I bouth the Universal box of five mummy movies, mainly to get the karloff original. But this franchise gets progressivley cheaper with each new entry -- extensive flashbacks to take advantage of recycled footage, shoddy production values and fleeting run times.
Since the films were spaced apart by 2-3 years, I suppose audiences would not remember that scenes from one film had previously appeared in an earlier entry in the series.
