Great movie but one thing puzzles me

So George, the conman, has had amnesia for nine years and during that time became Larry Wilson, a pompous businessman in Haversville. OK, I get that. What I don't get is the fact that Larry Wilson has a mother in Haversville. How is that possible if George only appeared in Haversville nine years before as somebody called Larry Wilson?

She is Kay's mother, not Larry's. It's not entirely clear in the film, since they both address her as "Mother", but she's identified in the closing credits as Kay's Mother. (Plus, as you noted, it would be impossible for her - or anyone - to be Larry's mother since Larry is actually George.)

BTW.... It's Haversville PA, not Oklahoma.
