Great film. Beautiful, fantastic cinematography

Now I know why I'm a socialist!

Every scene looks like a Walker Percy photograph. I love this movie.

I agree wholeheartedly, I was watching GOW again today and was struck by what to me seemed exceptionally beautiful cinematography, especially for 1940, although at this point I would not profess to be such an expert that I could tell if this was considered "advanced" for the year it was made.

I do know that by the definition of art being "I know it when I'm looking at it", this is ART, although John Ford might (falsely humbled) bristle at such a description. Just a gorgeous film all the way around.

"I wrote a poem on a dog biscuit;
And your dog refused to look at it..."
