the ape

I guess i'm the first serious person here to say something,, I thought that Borlis Karloff was wonderful in this one,, he tries to do something good, but apparently just tries a little to hard in getting the job done.

are you going to bark all day little doggie,, or are you going to bite

Yes, I watched the movie for the first time in about 5 years today and to my surprise I still remembered most of what happened. That must be a good sign. If I didn't like it odds are I'd forget most of it immediately after it were over.

hehe, yeah, would have been quite a moving ending (spoiler) if he didn't kill a bunch of people to heal her. in the beginning was the sort of a mix between the 1930s flicks "freaks" and "king kong" with a circus setting which i was in the mood for, but then it takes a different lane about this wheelchair bound girl trying to walk again and the actual ape disappears much of the movie, not to spoil anything but it actually makes sense to the plot, the movie also include some funny acting children, even grown ups today don't act that old, but if it's not what you were expecting, one of the things i like about movies from this era is the reasonable running time, a moviemaker joked that the end credits of modern flicks run longer than the movies used to. this is being described at places as a b movie, seems strange karloff, prior to this in the iconic frankenstein movie, as well as the mummy, would go on to appear in b flicks, and they sure take opportunity to use his name, even twice in the opening credits and appearing from the first frame, i expected the picture quality to be awful but at least the version i got was just fine. get this, it's a horror movie and rated from age 7 years old... never seen the likes. best line of the movie: "not fooling around chasing apes".

echo of good life in memory of yesterday,
on the other side you remain at the lane,
