Olga the manicurist describes Crystal as having eyes that "run up and down a man like a searchlight." Just marvelous - what exquisite phrasing. You can picture Crawford with that expression, too.

Great writing, but my favorite remains, "There's a name for you ladies, but it isn't used in high society -- outside of a kennel."
