Leni Lynn played Edith's oldest daughter in "The Women"


HOFFER--Leni was born Angelina Ciofani in Waterbury, CT May
3, 1923. She died New Years Day, 2010. Cause of death was a
stroke. At age 15 she was signed by MGM. As Leni Lynn, she
made films with Judy Garland, Mickey Rooney, Joan Crawford
and Binnie Barnes. In England from 1943-1949 she made
several films and sang lead roles at The Royal Opera at
Covent Garden. Leni was married four times; to Thomas Hopkin
in England, Douglas Duke, a Jazz organist, Albert Landry, an
art dealer and her beloved husband who survives her, Bernard
Hoffer, a composer. She is sorely missed. A Memorial Service
will be held at 4pm on Wednesday, January 13th at the Edward
F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-on-Hudson,
NY.

Thank you, Norbert. Was Leni the one singing by the piano, who wasn't wearing one of those black jumpsuits?

It's interesting that we see all of Edith's daughters (well, the seven that were alive at that point in the story, not the eighth that came later) in that scene, and only in that scene. Cool that they fit them all in, just in the space of a few minutes.

Sorta in the order in which we see them, though it's kind of all at once in the beginning:

1. very briefly, roller skating around the corner
2. playing the elevator man
3. and 4. running up to Edith and trying to get her attention before being told to run along
5. and 6. babies, possibly twins, in a carriage pushed by someone who appears to be a nanny ready to take them out for a stroll (Edith says, "the lambs, are you sure they're dressed warmly enough?")
7. singing next to the piano (Edith says, "Madam, will you tone her down? This is a toll call!")
