What did the maid say?

When Mary, Little Mary and the grandmother were watching the movies from Bermuda, the maid comes in and says something to little Mary twice.

What did the maid say to little Mary?

reply

I looked at my DVD copy and the maid said 'Your Music Teacher is here, Mary'.

One thing I wondered about is her lace scarf...I assume it's part of the uniform (as she's also wearing it at the 'country home') but it doesn't seem very practical (i.e. it would get in the way, I would think)...

Any thoughts on the scarf, anyone?

Thanks for the reply. I have listened to that part a dozen times and couldn't catch it.

My theory on the scarf is that she's not so much a maid as a sort of steward or house manager. I think she might direct the maids, cooks, etc., and they do the actual work.

It's amazing, I've see this movie so many times that I have thoughts about everything mentioned on this board, including the servant's scarf.

She's not a maid, and it's a shawl, not a scarf. Young Jane, the blonde, is the maid. That woman is the housekeeper/governess, who directs operations, especially those of the lower servants. And since she's dressed in a modified Victorian style, the shawl seems to work.
