I'm very interested in the famous chase scene.
It's montage works very well and it's so exciting.
Does anybody know a book or an article that analyzes mechanism of the chase?
Yes. See if you can find Peter Bogdanovich's book "John Ford," which I believe was published by the University of California Press (and now out of print). Bogdanovich gets Ford to talk about almost every one of his pictures, and Ford comments that he broke the rules in "Stagecoach" by not having the Apaches move consistently from right to left (or right to left) in the frame.
