Criterion: DVD vs. Blu-Ray

I've heard a few complaints about the Blu-Ray's transfer, so I'd like to hear some opinions from others. Is the quality of the Blu-Ray markedly superior to the DVD, or is the difference minimal?

I own the old WB DVD and am interested in upgrading. I don't yet own a Blu-Ray player, so I've been trying really hard to stick with buying DVDs, if possible.

Does Criterion's restoration of Ford's classic demand to be seen in Hi-Def on the newest technology?

For those still interested in upgrading, screenshot comparisons from all three releases(1997 DVD / 2005 SE DVD / 2010 Criterion Bluray) are available at the below link. Scroll about halfway down the page:

The Blu-Ray does look miles above any DVD, but there is a lot of print damage.

This isn't Criterion's fault since the original negative to the film is lost, but they found the best negative duplicates they could and put a lot of man hours into cleaning it up.
