One of the great dramas of the 1930's
TMC says this was released as a low budget "B movie". As it travelled the country with great word of mouth, it became the "A movie" of the double bill. I can't remember any other movie that made me cry. The ending of this movie does, even after viewing it several times. Great character development, well written, well directed. Starring the under appreciated Chester Morris. Even a great performance by the child actor.
