Help! When Bette Davis died, she left her Oscar to...

I recently recorded and watched Jezebel on TCM. The host Robert Osborne said at the end of the film, "When Bette Davis died in 1989, she left the Oscar she won for Jezebel to her dear friend..." and then my recording cut off, so I don't know who. I know it has traded hands since then, but does anyone know who he said she had left it to?

Thanks Divine. I know Spielberg bought it auction, but Robert Osborne specifically said "she left it to her dear friend ______". I'm curious to whom she left it. Obviously they weren't that dear of a friend if they took it to auction.

She did have two of them, you know! Maybe her friend didn't sell it after all. To quote Spencer Tracy in Desk Set, "Never assume!"

Okay, but WHO was the friend. From the way he was speaking, it was someone famous. Just curious.

Probably to Kathryn Sermack, a friend and secretary who lived with Davis in her Los Angeles apartment. She also got about half her estate.
