I've seen this film a hundred times
and never thought about this line before:
Alice to Cary Grant - "You tried it in the tail yesterday and it didn't fit".
The writers had to know the double meaning in this.

He tried rewriting the scene to no effect. They finally got it, but I believe that it literally did take all day. The actors were quite aware of the sexual double entendres.
And then there is Miss Swallow, who won't, and Susan who at the end of the film says that when she goes down, she will go down quietly.
The film is full of things like that and they were quite intentional.
