My Man Godfrey was thoughtful every once in a while.

More than once in a while. Yes, a witty movie that this movie copied without bothering to be witty.

Exactly. My Man Godfrey is a much more enjoyable movie. There are some witty lines in Bring Up Baby but their wittiness gets lost in the unrelenting stupidity of the Cary Grant character and the total self centeredness of the Hepburn character.
