story of the gibberish song(possible spoiler)

there used to be a thread about it on this board..guess it was deleted..so um..sorry for bringing this up again.
but does anyone know what the gibberish means by chaplin's body language?
i need to watch this movie again..but from what i remember it was about this pretty girl who sold her body to a wealthy man.only found out later that she was cheated in some way??

could someone shed some light on this? Thank you:>

Maybe you've already noticed by now, but this topic was brought up again under the thread "song" a little ways down. Here, again, is my post:

If you follow Charlie's gestures and the occasional clues in the song you can follow the story: it's about a woman who agrees to go to bed with a man in exchange for a diamond ring. They go back to his place together in a taxi and spend the night together, then she takes the ring to a pawnbroker and discovers that it's worthless!

Incidentally, the last verse to the song was cut from some prints of the film in the '30s, so I guess the censors of the day were able to follow the song well enough . . .
