shareSurely one of the best.. the film is a masterpiece
shareit was great, i cried but mostly for personal reasons, but it didn't fit the overall comical nature of the movie, but the music helped a little.
shareI think The Wizard of Oz (1939) has the best ending ever.
Volker Flenske: (While torturing David) I don't know why you're doing this to yourself!
I watched it yesterday, and this is my favorite Chaplin film. I have only seen 2 as I am relatively young , 18, and have just recently gotten into older film. I have seen this and City Lights. I have noticed that Chaplin has extraordinary endings to his films. City Lights was beautiful, and this was unexpected. I think the name of this film is possibly the best part because it breaks several clichés. Its modern in the sense that everything you expect will not happen. The Depression was a time of change, and this showed that film can change as well as storytelling devices. I do not however consider this the best ending ever, my personal favorite ending to a film is Se7en (1995) and I could go into details why, but I already did on that message board.
