Opening Credits (Quote)?

Does anyone know what the quote is in the opening Credits for Sylvia Scarlett (about the Adventurer)? I haven't been able to find it anywhere! Any idea who wrote it?

Hi SadieBeth! I was also looking for the opening quote, and by some strange luck (and the luck of Google), I found it! Here it is, hope you enjoy it as much as I do:

"To the adventurer, to all who stray from the beaten track, life is an extravagance in which laughter and luck and love come in odd ways; but they are nonetheless sweet for that."

I found it at this link: http://books.google.com/books?id=Uht9tepzwnkC&pg=RA1-PA27&lpg=RA1-PA27&dq=%22to+the+adventurer%22+from+sylvia+scarlett&source=web&ots=r9R9MF6oaJ&sig=SmKASWPZ-5DFfP3zI33o_bGpqfE

Where I found it is from The Film Reader by Harry M. Benshoff. I have no idea if he came up with the quote itself, or just quoted it for the purpose of that book excerpt. Hope that helps!

There is a novel (and a sequel called Sylvia and Michael) by Compton McKenzie, and I assume it came from that. The book is hard to find.
