about the DVD

I have seen many different releases of "human bondage" and I was wondering if someone could tell me which one is the best (if there is a difference at all).In addition, does anyone know which release contains subtitles please?
Thank u!

anyone? :(

I just bought it from the dollar store as a double feature but I have yet to watch it.

I have one from Madacy. It's very good. It's got movie star bloopers as a bonus feature. The Roan Group has this film on a triple-feature disc. I haven't seen it, but from my experiences, 9 out of 10 times The Roan Group uses very good prints.

the roan edition is far superior to the rest.

The Roan version DEFINITELY has the best print, for both picture and sound(plus you get two other movies), but it does not have subtitles on it.
But it's a pretty unbeatable package for it's price.

Was going to get the Madacy issue for the extras. Is the Roan definitely better; do you have both, so you could do a side-by-side comparison?

I assume you picked up a DVD of this film long ago, but if not, you may want to take a look here:

http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film/DVDReviews19/of_human_bondage_dvd_review .htm

...where they take a very close look at the Roan edition.

If you want to see a side-by-side comparison, write to dvdbeaver and ask them to do one. If you look at the entries for many other films, dvdbeaver usually compares two or more discs.

They close the review by saying:

Unless this gets put out by a major studio (it probably won't being PD) this is the edition that we recommend at present.

Which means one of two things: A) This review was done some years ago and before the latest dvd releases or B) dvdbeaver has indeed seen the newer dvd releases and the Roan edition still beats them all out.

I suspect B, but the only way to know for sure is to write them.
