Check out the latest issue of filmfax,spring 2011. It has an interview with Fay Wray's screen double,Pauline Wagner.She's 101 years old.Seriously,who knew there was someone still alive from the original production? Fay Wray wasn't available for reshoots,so Pauline doubled for her in the final Empire State building attack,lying on a fake ledge against a rear projection of New York City.She apparently did a few more pickup fx shots,but she doesn't think they used them!! In the interview she discusses the rest of her amazingly long career.

Yes, it was a great read. When Harry Redmond Jr. (who was a special effects technican on KING KONG) died this past May at 101, I had figured that everyone involved with the production had now passed on. But it was nice to see that Pauline is still around and she indeed has had an interesting career.

Sadly, Pauline Wagner passed away in May 2014.
