I want to remake this!

I am 15 and I am learning to be a filmaker! I read the book and loved it! This movie (especially for 1933) is awesome! I think I would want to set it in modern day thou like Steven Speilburg did with war of the worlds.

reply

depending on where you live and if you keep it true to the movie and book I'll act

reply

I like how you make demands, as if this random 15 year old kid was comtemplating to "cast" you for his "movie."

Oh, life.

reply

Well, from your exclamation point-happy post, it seems the actors will be shouting all thier lines. Seriously, I'm 15 and want to direct, but my humble opinion is learn from the classics and leave them alone, remakes usually turn out bad.

reply

Jackyspat, I posted that just to see a reaction. I do that on thse boards from time to time.

What do you seriously think that you'll achieve by telling a bunch of people you don't know about your plans to remake this classic. What do you want us to do with this information?

reply

This is why I dislike remakes. People will see the old films, think "hey, that sounds good" and eventually there will be a remake 'adapted' for a modern audience. And before you know it, the merchandise comes out.

reply

Well, you cant. The story is still copyrighted. For another 15 years. Then H.G. Wells novel will enter public domain, so unless you are ready to pay obscene amounts of money to the current copyrightholders.

We can't stop here! This is Bat-country!

For the love of God, do not even discuss modernizing it. Leave Wells' work alone unless you're going to do it right.

reply

look "Hollow Man" (2000) with Josh Brolin!
