Possibly my favourite Universal Classic.
Everyone goes for Dracula and The Bride of Frankenstein (Which are great) but I really find this movie has aged the best.

Rains' performance is outstanding. He owns every scene he's in.
Can't stop the signal.
It's my favorite of all of the Universal Monster Films as well. No other film is more well written. Plus the special effects are just top notch. I love it. It still holds up so well today.
All things once, are things forever. Soul once living, lives forever.
Agreed. This is my #1 of the Universal Classics.
And it's 110% because of Rains.

Wait a minute... who am I here?
In 100% agreement here. Absolutely one of my all time favourites! Love Rains who steals every scene he is in, well you know what I mean, and the effects are still stunning. Stands up to anything that's come since. I adore Universal but TIM will always be my top choice!

I think Dracula is more evil. Griffith is just criminally insane.
shareThis and Bride of Frankenstein are my two favorites.
sharei first saw this 13 years ago when universal first released the classic monster dvd box, and it was one of my favorites, and watching it now, i'm well aware of the leading actor after seeing him in, well for example like the most famous movie in history casablanca, and loads of other classic movies, and i wonder if the invisible man wouldn't be scarier if it didn't have a well known actor behind the bandage. the opening sequence in this is so memorable i think, and even though the movie is from the 30's, i still find it quite creepy and scary, and it also at times has a comedic tone about it, i think it holds up so well and has high standard on so many different levels, i wonder why the invisible man box with its sequels weren't released outside usa. some monsters were, some weren't. but honestly as this movie goes along, you get quite fed up with the invisible man and his brat like personality, and really want him to get caught.
yvette french named with redneck accent,
minding the cabin while ski event this december day,
and there's a clear winter sky,
snow on the ground,
come here to me,
and i'm gonna show you how a real swede ski,
down the hills and through the covered fields,
only two line tracks smokin behind me,
before the day's over,
you're gonna look at me with wonder,
cause i'm the fastest in the land,
keep the fire burnin til i'm back,
i left at dawn, got back at dawn,
and had me time yet, to hand home to yvette, every single ski award.
Gorgeous to look at (pun intended), extremely well told, and the special effects truly impressive for the time period. Saw this about ten years ago, really want to see it again, and the sequels too, which I've never seen (pun intended again).
There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?
Difficult for me to choose between the big four (Frankenstein, Bride of, Dracula and Invisible Man) but this one is special.
