My dream is to own this film on Blu-ray, restored in HD. But I guess that will probably never happen, since it's a lost film.

It's not lost, and in fact since your OP a print of the original Hollywood film, in English, has been found. A Blu-ray (and DVD) will be released by Kino-Lorber, probably in 2017.
