Karloff's 'Morgan' character in the story.
I don't usually like to speculate on the "what-ifs' regarding classics, but my disappointmnet in The Old Dark House led me to.
If Morgan had been the one locked up in the attic instead of the other guy, it would have been a creepier surprise at the end. The somewhat suspenseful scene with Roderick was OK but a little obvious. He would've been better cast as a wild-eyed butler who gets weirder and weirder.
A groaning, rampaging Karloff appearing in the last reel would've been scarier.
