the famous oklahoma land rush scene

I just watched the movie for the first time this morning on tcm. I was looking for the land rush scene and did not see it. since the movie covers a lot of years is there some way that i missed it. I saw the scene where yancy tells his wife about the US buying the land from the indians, and then it skips ahead after he tells her that he has to go and she refuses to leave. Can anyone help me?

the first few minutes into the opening scene of this fine movie depicts the initial land rush where Dix gets out maneuvered by Miss Dixie Lee whom he later defends in court, much to the dislike of Dunne.

If it wasn't as you remember, perhaps you're thinking of the 1960 version of the film? The land rush scene is about 30 minutes into the 1960 version.

The 1889 land rush was at the VERY beginning of the film -- maybe five minutes in, if that far! The 1893 Cherokee Strip land rush wasn't shown at all -- Yancey runs off to it and that's all she wrote.

The land rush scene lasts only about three minutes, if that long. It seemed to be thrown away, something that wouldn't have been done if directed by John Ford or Howard Hawks.

"We're fighting for this woman's honor, which is more than she ever did."

Yet it took a week to film and thousands of extras. The cinematography was not too great.
