I watched this movie this morning for the first time and I can't believe no one has commented on the little black boy lying on a platform fanning the family. This was the most outrageous thing I have seen in the movies since Gone with the Wind. Did people in the 1930's find this normal? It was so cruel. Any others find this disturbing?

Would you be offended if you saw a caveman dragging a girl to his cave? A viking pillaging? And these acts are much more horrifying than a boy fanning people. share
Yeah but it was funny as hell. I guess this (slave fan the fly) had to be true at one time in the upper class homes. I hope they only included that shot in the movie for comic relief?
