A funny movie

Saw this at the SF Silent Film Festival, 2006. Not the bizarre movie I expected. There were many funny lines in it, and the audience laughed frequently. There is love & pathos, and a lot of humor. It's the equal of the work of greats like Chaplin & Keaton.

What's interesting is that when they remade it in sound in 1930, it was a much lighter film and more overtly comic. However this version is not nearly as amusing as the original film, even though it lifts some of the most hilarious bits (like the midget/baby grabbing for the pearl necklace).

Did I not love him, Cooch? MY OWN FLESH I DIDN'T LOVE BETTER!!! But he had to say 'Nooooooooo'

I happened to see a version of the movie with "Old Man River," that was older than my grandma. It was on TV, "Old Man River ... Keeps on Rolling Along!" Stuff like that and Camelot are good movie material, like Alice in Wonderland. Something like Showboat. Didn't the family yea they had a showboat.
