Missing Scenes

I recently came across an older article from TCM where they created a comic storyboard for the missing scenes between Tweedledee and The Ape and thought it rather a shame that these scenes had been omitted from the film, and consequently lost to the viewers because they really added to the horrific drama of the scene.

However, I found no mention of any other missing scenes from the film and interestingly I found a movie still in "The Overlook Film Encyclopedia" of Tweedledee strangling the three year old daughter of the murdered man noted in the newspaper around 31 minutes into the film. The TCM version I watched does not show what happens at the house during the robbery. It shows the two villains driving off in the car and then the next scene shows us The Unholy Three discussing their crime in the sitting room of the parrot shop. This leads me to believe that perhaps there was even more gruesome images from the film that also were cut and lost. Does anyone have any background information on the editing of this film that they can share? I'd really love to know more, as I think this film is one of the better Chaney Browning pairings and would love to see it released properly on DVD.
