I couldn't even tell which parts were computer generated. They did very well with the much slower computers they must have had back then.

I know, right? Like the use of cgi in nosferatu? VERY little, if any, was used as the director liked practical effects, not the cgi crapfests from Hollywoodland of the time!

I think it was more Green screen and motion capture than out and out CGI. Groundbreaking stuff. Did you see the 3D version?

Saw it in IMAX - when he rises out of the coffin it's like he's heading straight for the screen!

Well, Abacuses have much higher resolution than modern day computers. They just don't use them anymore because it takes longer to input the data.
