One or Two Films?

I was wondering why there is only one IMDb page for this movie. From what I found online, the two parts of the film were released a few months apart. This is the same situation as Die Nibelungen, but both parts of that film have their own IMDb pages. Can anyone tell me why these two films, both released in two parts two years apart by the same director are treated differently? Thanks!

It is one film in two parts, and that was a common enough thing in the silent era films, such as les vampries are released in several parts and through that become very long. This would also make the grosses higher, for three reasons: they could charge two admissions, people wouldn't have to spare 4 1/2 hours, and they could use a cliffhanger.

black and white movies were better

Doktor Mabuse are two films: Dr. Mabuse, der große Spieler and Dr. Mabuse - Inferno des Verbrechens.
It's not only common in the silent film era but also today. Just think of Lord of the Rings.

My guess why there is only one IMDb page: the first american version was a recut version with a length of only 90 minutes (thats what the commentary on a dvd said)

Just to agree with ya: the German version was actually two movies (Dr. Mabuse, the Gambler and Dr. Mabuse, Inferno) with some time inbetween; the US version was edited into one film because they didn't think there'd be enough interest in the US in the extended version. (From some of the comments, I guess that's still true...)

Actually, I'd use Kill Bill as a better (though not perfect) example, but that's what happened.

I'm not sure what happened; I've been on imdb for about 10 years, and I'm pretty sure at one time they had both films listed...
