Erich von Stroheim

He plays a pharisian, but I haven't recognised him. I have seen a 177 minutes version (with a PAL transfert, because I live in France). So I think it is a the complete version. Can you tell me where is Erich von Stroheim in the film ?

Thanks.

Apparently, according to the IMDB trivia, that was a pseudonym for someone else, which would explain why you didn't recognize him

The pharisee was actually played by William Courtright.

Joseph Henabery, who plays a third pharisee and was first AD on the film, says that the two "main" pharisees are played by Ritzau and Courtright (who has been mis-identified as Stroheim for years). Henabery's account, recorded in 1975, says that Stroheim only worked as a production assistant on the "Babylon" sequences of the film. And, for the record, claims of his work in any capacity on "The Birth of a Nation" have been pretty much completely discounted.
