similar to Braveheart (1995)?

Just curious as to why IMDB suggests that if you liked Intolerance, you would like Braveheart. Are there similarities in the themes? Similarities in filming? I'm very interested in comparing modern films to old black and white films.

Are there any films you know of that drew inspiration from Intolerance? Directors that are similar in style to D.W. Griffith?

Much appreciated,
Del

Don't know about the Braveheart comparison, but D.W. Griffith is widely thought to have come up with the modern style of movie story telling and one of the founding fathers of modern cinema.

After just seeing BABEL (2006) with Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, a movie that has everyone reminding them of CRASH, it really reminded me more so of Griffith's movie, in terms of the multiple story lines (both 4 had four each), the ignorance and prejudice some carried and the consequences as a result. (And all four building up to a climatic event very similar to that in INTOLERANCE). The only difference is that in BABEL, all four stories are intertwined, where as in Griffith's film, they are really not.

Plus Griffith's masterpiece is miles ahead of that garbage.
