It's sad I only know of this person because she's big
One should know a musician from a song.
... must be listening to the wrong music.

"Big"? It's FAT. MORBIDLY OBESE. LARD-ASS. PLANETOID.
shareShe won record of the Year at this years Grammy awards. It’s sad you don’t keep up with modern pop culture. Everyone knows who Lizzo is and that she won.
shareOh... well, I'm glad you have a hobby. I used to keep up with pop culture but then I grew up after Kurt Cobain checked out with a shotgun.
shareWell, her talent and charisma are limited, and her music is nothing special. Her whole public image depends on "body positivity" because she doesn't have much else to offer as an artist.
shareThat's unfortunate. I miss the days when grunge was new... Hiphop had an edge. Hairbands went out. Alternative music had a sense of humor. Country wasn't on full pop mode yet. ...Fuck I'm old...
shareYEAH...WE ARE...THE KIDS LIKE SOME WEIRD SHIT...NOW WE KNOW HOW OUR PARENTS FELT ABOUT OUR WEIRD SHIT.
shareEspecially mine. Dad is Austrian and mom was raised by Austrians. The most they listened to was classical, the Who, and Pink Floyd.
shareMY PARENTS WERE/WRE HIPPIES...YOU WOULD THINK THAT WOULD MAKE THEM COOL MUSICALLY...AND THEY ARE...UNTIL ABOUT 1992...SKA...ALTERNATIVE...HIP-HOP...THEY WENT FROM TELLING ME HOW THEIR PARENTS THOUGHT THE BEATLES WERE SHIT...TO TELLING ME MY MUSIC WAS SHIT.
shareLol. My Oma had no issues with new music. She just told my mom and her siblings that they had to enjoy it in the garage. For us, we got history lessons with each composer in her house. It was pretty cool. I still enjoy watching Andrea Rieu and Victor Salva with her. 96 years old and she still has good taste.

I'm in my 30s and I feel the same way: mainstream music has been going downhill for the last two decades.
I don't think it's because the times are changing or because there aren't any talented artists left, but because everything is released through digital streaming platforms, social media, or YouTube. When an artist releases a new single/music video online and you can listen/watch it for free whenever you want, there's no element of surprise. In the 80s or 90s, people had to tune in to the radio or MTV to hear their favourite music, or go to the record store to get an actual, physical copy of the record. That made things much more interesting and magical. Now you don't have to go out of your way to discover or collect new music. And in turn, the artists don't have to make an effort to catch your attention, surprise you or keep you interested.
Yeah, you'd be yelling at her to be down in front at the concert then you realize Miss Large and in Charge is the concert!
