Career over before it started?

She played a Puerto Rican character in In the Heights and Puerto Ricans were outraged that she — and other cast members — didn’t have dark enough skin. Next she played Batgirl and most fans complained that her skin was too dark.

Then In the Heights bombs making $10 million less than it cost to make and Batgirl gets cancelled before it’s released. Did the backlash of her being ethnically miscast in both roles lead to both film’s demise? Probably not. But it didn’t help.

There’s no upcoming projects listed on her IMDB page, so I’m wondering if her career is over before it started?

Yeah. It is. She chose 2 shitty projects, or perhaps she was the best that the 2 shitty projects could get. Either way, stick a fork in her.

I’m okay if she gets a role where she takes all her clothes off. That’ll probably happen now out of desperation.

According to IMDb, as of now she has only two movies classified as 'Upcoming' - and one of those is the cancelled Batgirl. The other is a crime drama called The Thicket starring Peter Dinklage and Juliette Lewis.
