Seems to be going the Kristen Stewart route

Started in a franchise and her role/performance was negatively received (like Stewart with Twilight) and her acting questioned now she is carving her path doing indie films and proving her acting talent. Similar to Kristen Stewart, Daisy seems to be doing well with that.

I also find Ridley exceedingly cute for some reason (she's not the type I normally go for). I don't find Stewart cute at all.

reply

yeah, she is about as good looking as Trump.

You should check her out in American Ultra. i though she did a very good job and she was perfect as the hot girl friend of the slacker main character.

Hot, but approachable hot. You could believe that she would be that level of attractive but still be dumb enough to be with the loser of the main character. Then, spoilers....and it still worked pretty well, imo.

She is making a career out of her squint face; the cover of that movie she was in last year features it prominently.

She's a terrible, one dimensional actor who's trademark squint face looks emotionally powerful until you realize that's all she brings to the table. By all l mean all. She has no other ability to convey emotions.

I dislike her immensely, but admittedly that's for her part in the movies that killed Star Wars. She seems like a relatively decent person but by god I hate that damn one trick expression of hers.

If people actually find her movies watchable though then good for her I guess.

She's not supposed to have a career. The Star Wars Curse is a real thing. To this day they're still trying to make Driver a thing and it isn't working. Only Harrison Ford managed to soar above it.

reply

Never really thought about that before but you've got a point.

And if Tom Selleck had played Indy instead (and I'm glad he didn't), maybe Ford wouldn't have been able to soar above Star Wars either.

reply

Don't think so. Indiana Jones was a very transcendent role. It's far more likely Ford would have found himself trapped in that scifi rutt that actors rarely escape from. Comfortable work your whole career, but always in that niche. Maybe he would have been the star of the Tremors franchise or something of that nature.
