She's typecast as terminally ill

In Bates Motel, she has cystic fibrosis. In "Me & Earl", she has cancer/leukemia. Poor girl.

I was also coming to that conclusion. Then I noticed she's only just starting her career. In time I feel she'll show versatility. Also she's still cute (not pathetic) with the oxygen tubes up her nostrils and that may be particularly why she suits the ill characters so well.

I think is odd too that an actress would choose such a similar role to a very recent previous one... I still have to see Me and Eral... So maybe she just read an awesome script and couldn't bear to reject it.

Yep - three ill characters now.

She is also sick/fatigued throughout the movie "the signal".

Lol, i was just coming to say that. Yes, she's type casted as a terminally ill person

That is because she cannot act. If she looks like she is emotionless and stony, it works with someone who is dying. She needs to go into modelling, because she is stunningly gorgeous, but needs to STOP acting, because she is terrible at it. She has no voice inflexion, no emotion at all. She is a very pretty statue.
