Some people act like it's;
(old) White heterosexual men vs everyone else (women, 'POC', LGBT)

Anyone badmouthing young Black (lesbian) women would rightfully get side-eyed. Unfortunately when you're 'punching up' you're allowed to be racist, ageist and sexist. It's only White heterosexual men who you're allowed, and it seems encouraged, to comment negatively on.

That's not to say Ortega's comments are particularly heinous, just another comment to be lobbed onto the pile of open disdain for certain members of society. Though the way she's talking it seems she thinks 'old White men' can't write younger women correctly? How does she want them to be written, as a 'slay queen' perfect being who gets one over on the old White men? Not sure what she's complaining about with regards to her 'lame stereotype' comment. Ortega's own characters have been decently written (X, Scream 5) from what I can tell. She hasn't been playing dumb bimbos or anything.

This is just PR talk when she and others make csi straight man comments. If Spielberg, cameron, fichner or any of these directors cast her as a lead she would take it in a heartbeat and be their best friends


Its a double edge sword. If men only wrote about men they would get called sexist, misogynist or whatever. If a man said what she said he d get canceled.
