she gets a whole bunch of attention for......

I haven't seen the new one (I might not bother) but I barely remember her from the first two. I think she had about 15 minutes of screen time. No idea why she is drawing so much attention.

I didn't even know who she was, but I've seen her trending every day here for like the past week, and it seems people are very upset with her.

Oh well. Moving on.

I think she's fine Kowalski, but I do think either Disney Studios or Lucas Film used her as a pawn as an excuse to attack the fans. As a relatively unknown actress before SW, I think her hands would have been contractually tied speaking-out on her own.

I mean, look at how Boyega (the black guy) was used to advance the 'leaked script' bullshit. Hardly anyone believes the crap story he was used to advance.

Do I think she may have taken some shit from fans? Yes, but no more than any other actor/actress in a high profile role. Entertainers live in the pubic eye, and have to be prepared for bullshit from a public base that consists of literally BILLIONS of people in the case of SW.

In all but the rare case, an actor's/actress' life is based and built on the rejection of their peers and the public.

That maybe 10 or 20, or even 100 people gave her crap out of a billion people isn't a tragedy - that Disney or Lucas used her (and her career) as a marketing strategy is.

If there is endemic racism involved with the treatment of Tran & Boyega, it isn't by the 'white' fans, it's by the usual suspects that run Hollywood.
