So close to popping but it didn't happen
the Maze movie really projected him into the sky, but nothing came out of it. so close.

shareHe coulda been a contenda.
shareDylan O'Brien, Logan Lerman, and Dylan Minnette must have all been cloned in the same lab together with how similar the three of them look.
And they were all kinda getting promoted around the same mid-2010s YA era, so maybe people just got confused as to who was who, LOL.

You and I have VERY different ideas of what “the sky” is. He was a TV actor on an MTV series who was, at best, 2-dimensional and lacking in gravitas, making him the prototypical high school student, which in turn made him the antithesis of a movie star. Think “Neve Campbell” from Party of Five. Never was going to happen; but you don’t know that when you are 15 years old.
shareAgree, the near-death accident he experienced on the set of that Maze Runner movie, followed by a long bout of PTSD as a result, really knocked some of the wind out of his sails for sure.
shareThat's true.
While Maze Runner wasn't super successful, I thought it still has a pretty big fan base? I think he's taken some pretty good roles. He could've even been Spider-Man, but I'm glad he wasn't.
Seems like he's never been super big and I'm not sure if he was close to it or not. Other than Maze Runner, he chooses roles in smaller movies. Even if he can't get roles in bigger movies, maybe it's better that way.
Even if he isn't a massive star, he's got a following. He's still pretty popular.
He has the fan-base, that's not really a problem. It's just that when he was at the height of his popularity, he kinda disappeared. While fans can live with that, it seems directors and studio execs are not so forgiving, especially if they were never rooting for him to begin with. I guess we'll see. I think he'll always have a job in TV.
shareThat's a good point.
