Can we drop the "Why didn't you do X while VP?" narrative?

Trump himself said that the vice president doesn't have any power. He's literally lying to us every time he uses this argument.

Historically, the vice president in terms of the election, does not have any impact. I mean, virtually no impact. You have two or three days where there’s a lot of commotion as to who, like you’re having it on the Democrat side, who it’s going to be, and then that dies down and it’s all about the presidential pick. Virtually, never has it mattered. Maybe Lyndon Johnson mattered for different reasons than what we’re talking about. Not for vote reasons, but for political reasons, other political reasons. But historically, the choice of a vice president makes no difference.

She continues to brag about how she's cast the most tie breaking votes of any VP in history, so clearly she believes she has a great deal of influence. Last I've seen, she was the deciding vote on at least 33 occasions.

"She cast more tie-breaking votes than any other vice president, which helped pass bills such as the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 stimulus package and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022."

Clearly, she has had the power to make or break these policies, so she is directly to blame if she is now claiming that she'll fix it.

> Bidenomics is working
> If you elect me, I'll fix the economy on day one

Pick one.

Same for border protection and all of the rest of the things she claims she'll fix on day one, if elected.

The problem for Harris is that she was clearly given responsibilities under Biden - for example, to help fix the border, and also to help with diplomacy before the Russia-Ukraine war. Furthermore, she no doubt wants to emphasize the idea that she had some sort of "leadership" role in the Biden Administration.

Because of this, it's entirely fair to go after Kamala like this. She's entirely free to respond by saying "As Vice President, I didn't really do anything". Of course, that would be a losing strategy for her.

I agree with you that it is a pointless narrative, but the Dems keep saying she was involved with every decision Biden made. They opened that door.

You, me, and everyone else know Kamala was nowhere near a made decision.
