Did she peak in GOT? Seems like her career and popularity has dwindled
Since the tv show ended
shareSince the tv show ended
shareShe was pretty great in GoT, fit the narrative of Arya 'Horseface' Stark, as written by George R R Martin, so it's tough to say how her career goes from here.
If only Double Dumb opted for 10-13 seasons with 10 episodes each as originally planned, she'd still be in a career today, lol.
I've watched this 20 times or more...

Probably. There seems to be a usual pattern in terms of young actors who peak early.
1/ Peak.
2/ A lead role in a project that fails.
3/ Some kind of weird artsy film.
4/ Something more edgy and B grade.
5/ Long break.
GOT ended in 2019, she had New Mutants come out the next year along with 2 Indie movies, them we had covid and it shut everyone down, and she's currently right in the middle of making a Sex Pistols series on FX. Seems like a pretty full slate to me.
shareNew Mutants killed her career.
shareEh, that was only one movie and hardly anyone even saw it.
shareExactly.
shareI wouldn't put that on her shoulders, especially when the movie wasn't even really centered around her.
Someone made a bad X-Men movie and no one cared. Not her fault.
Never said it was her fault. It's just bad luck.
shareWell my point is that I don't think the producers will blame the films failure on her, and therefore it shouldn't be a career killer.
Honestly, I think the bigger issue is that she hasn't had ANY hits since GoT, but to be fair, she doesn't have many credits either. I don't think producers ever thought she had much potential outside of being Arya Stark.
A has every other actor in GOT ... not because of anything they did or didn't do, but simply because it is hard to find anything that star in that is as good, hyped or widely viewed as GOT was. I think she will show up again in something, but these days there is a massive bank of actors all looking for jobs ... which is probably an improvement over always seeing the same few faces.
shareYeah, it seems that none of the GoT people have gone on to superstardom. I do still see a few of them pop up here and there--for instance, I just saw Lena Headey the other day in a trailer for a new Netflix movie--but most of them seem to have faded from the spotlight. I'm sure they'll continue to work, but not in big roles in high-profile films.
Kit Harington did get a push for a little while, but now literally the only thing he has upcoming listed on IMDB is a shitty Marvel movie and then nothing after that. That's a shame too because I genuinely like him as a performer.
I have no experience with fame or acting, but if it was me, they have to work extremely hard, and they get paid a lot of money. I would not be so interested in getting out there again so fast as to having a good life, fun, family. Most of them have strong stereotypical images that some movie character will be perfect for eventually. Charles Dance always seems to have roles, that guy is a screen magnet. To me, I just try not to like or get attached to actors, because I think that is the primary way they manipulate their audience - same with politics. Look at certain President's media images, and previous media experience or screen charisma has a lot to do with, maybe the most of any factor.
shareAlso some actors are just "good in that role"
like Emilia Clarke, or Emma Watson. born to play Daenarys and Hermoine, nothing else.

I don't know ... you never know completely what the public are going to like or what the media consultants are going to figure out how to make stick in our minds ... it is all various channels of manipulation.
shareLooks like it.
A lot of the GOT actors/actresses fall into that branding as well. How many of them have moved onto bigger and better things or at least stayed working in big projects?
Jason Momoa is the only one, but he was never a main cast member. Just a bit part player for 10 episodes.
Emilia Clarke had a few shots. A Terminator and then Star Wars film, not to mention a few Rom-Coms. But it seems her chance has went up into thin air. Not really her fault those films flopped. But I can't see her staying a huge deal.
I will say that Sophie Turner & Maisie Williams still have a chance in big roles. Given the fact they're both so young, they have a long career still ahead of them. All it takes is that one decent role in a surprise hit and they're back in business.
Robb Stark and Jon Snow are also on MCU now
shareShe's not dumb. she has been on the ground floor for a few apps. If one of those hit (very rare) she could be worth hundreds of millions. also, besides this she appears to be involved in a bunch of other ventures not related to the film industry.
shareShe's gone full woke. She assumed Arya was a rug muncher because of course.
