'Little Dorrit'

CF is reported to be playing Amy "Little" Dorrit in the BBC's new miniseries. Judging from the picture here: http://www.oxforddrama.ac.uk/media/pdf/OSD_showcase_2007.pdf, I'd say that she's a good choice! I'm glad that they've cast an unknown; famous actors can only be recycled so many times, and shouldn't be stuffed into roles that they don't fit, IMHO.

Acting requires me to be very observant... [sitting] in cafes for hours and [watching] people...

I think Claire did an excellent job as little Amy Dorrit.

SO DO I.I thought she was excellent, conveying the strength of the character along with her 'goodness'.She and Matthew were both so suited to their characters,as were many of the others.A very good adaptation.I'm sure Claire will go a long way.

My only complaint was that she wasn't little enough. At one point in the book she is mistaken for a child because she is very short. Claire was easily the same height as Judy Parfitt when they are standing together watching the house collapse. But she was very winning, and with some semblance to Arthur's real-life wife, methinks, Keeley Hawes.

I thought she did an amazing job as did Matthew, but her facial expression and reactions were incredible, it seemed so real, I love this movie and Claire and Matthew are a big reason why, they were absolutely marvelous together!

Interesting that you should compare her to Keeley Hawes, because in the new Upstairs Downstairs, the pair play sisters.

a big ball wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff

I don't think she looks like K.Hawes at all? But in a cast full of outstanding performances she was just as strong as all of them (perhaps the best).
