Because there are certain looks that casting people and movie producers look for. Also, if you happen to resemble someone who's already a big star, then psychologically, your face will strongly appeal to movie viewers and movie makers.
The girl who played Eleven in Stranger Things is one of the best examples of this, ever. The number of actresses she strongly resembles is insane, and Natalie Portman is one of them of course.
you can add the actress who plays Jemma on Agents of Shield as another Knightly / Portman clone. I'm not complaining, better that than continuing to crank out units of the Roseanne Barr/ Rosie O'Donnell model.

Weird that under the right conditions how much they look like dopplegangers. I watched a movie called Berlin Syndrome where the whole time I thought it was Kristen Stewart, but it turned out to be an actress called Theresa Palmer. I saw pictures of her blond and she has a resemblance, but in the movie with her hair color and style I thought they looked identical.
