You know, I hope it was an amicable split between her and Michael, and that it was a mutual thing, their breakup. If he messed around on this amazing woman, or just let her get away from him willy-nilly, he's a bloody fool.

Definitely. I was in a long distance relationship, international, and even though we loved each other, it was difficult. And now, he's with someone more local. Ah, well.


Wonder if they bumped into each other a Comic-Con.

If local is key to a relationship, then the local relationship = relationship of convenience only. And, marriage and commitment is the remedy for any international barrier to a love relationship. Sounds to me like the guy you were with "internationally" was making excuses with both of you ladies. And, didn't want to commit to either. Sorry.
