really???
Why on earth are women attracted to a curly receding hairline?
This man is just a giant pubic hair.
He is attractive compared to a bald man.

oh man, my ego is soooo asking me not to post this
but since you asked and since i'm bored, horny and properly buzzed i just might answer honestly. (plus my inner writing troll is tickled and bothered so, there's that - no writing assignments makes this girl frustrated)
What makes Aidan so attractive:
- Personality: he's so funny (very funny actually), genuine, interesting, down to earth, really charming, with a hint of mischievous, adventurous and just the right amount of mysterious and artistic... Let me tell you - that combo is a killer no matter what the guy looks like!
About that down to earth thing: i cannot emphasize enough how important this is, arrogance is not only a turn off but actually barf-inducing in my case.
- Eyes: my favorite feature on a man are his eyes - the colour doesn't matter that much (as long as they are not light hazel brown we're good). It's the expressiveness that gets me. He has this look that brings you in, that special kind of look, it's hard to put my finger on it - it's a mischievousness and intensity expressed through the eyes. That plus his werewolf-like eyebrows and lovely sort of green sort of brown that changes with the light eye colour = perfect.
- Smile: He has the most beautiful smile i've ever seen on a man. It's like the right mix of sweet and sexy. I never really tend to pay attention to a way a man smiles but on him it's just so natural.
- Hair:
*First of all i have a MAJOR weakness for men with black hair. I have never in my life been with a man with blond hair (especially the light kind) and the sole though of it makes me kind of quiver (i'm russian and all my cousins are blond and eeek, blond men make me think of my extensive family - big no no)*
And if that's not enough i have a major weakness for men with curly hair...actually i think medium curls in men AND women is absolutely one of the sexiest things a human can posses. Case and point: i think the sexiest woman in the world is Shakira with her curly hair.
I'm not a big fan of long hair but on Aidan it's just perfect.
So: black hair + curly = yes please!
What receding hairline? I'm not seeing any of that.
- Black hair is manly, even body hair (i don't care either way but it looks good on Aidan).
- His style: I love - LOVE - the way he dresses when he's not stlyed by magazines and such. It's so refreshing to see a man dressing manly! I cannot stress this enough - even in real life i cannot with a man in skinny jeans and pink chinos. His clothes fit him nicely and i like his simple style... There's something so compelling about a man who can wear a simple white t-shirt, normal leg jeans, and the occasional sleek simple black suit! The type of clothes that make one imagine taking them off.
///i could write an entire essay about how men should dress IF they want to make women fall head over heels into lust for them. But no one is asking me to do that so i'm gonna stfu and get back to the subject at hand///
- Passion: i like it when a guy has something that he's super good at and Aidan is passionate about acting and it shows! The fact that he's not some man-bimbo makes him so much more attractive!
- Accent: let's be real here most women like a bit of an accent on a man and when it comes to accents Irish is the sexiest of them all.
- And, i'm trying not to objectify and all that, but, there is that body, the type you can't ignore. He's got some nice muscles on him, just the right amout. Not too buff (which is a dislike for most women). He's just proportionate and manly in all the right ways. And he has one of the sexiest things on a man: a wide back.
I'm sure i left a few things out but meh, it was already an essay when i started but if i keep on it'll turn into a saga.
*Disclaimer: I am NOT some kind of fan girl with posters and shhht...I do not want an autograph and am not desperate at all. I have a life and my own persona and artistry to worry about so to all of you who have a problem with this: you can suck on it!*
*Disclaimer no 2: That's just my impression of him and those are my personal tastes so yeah... I don't know the dude personally he could be different in real life but who knows? I'm a realist.*

This is one of the most entertaining posts I've read on any board in my semi-long history of participating in boards. I wholeheartedly agree on all points.
NikkifromSiberia, wherever you are, thanks for writing this. Reading it made my day and simultaneously made me nearly cry over the loss of the IMDb boards community. Yes, over a year later I'm still not over it.

Are you kidding me??
Okay, let's see....he's charismatic, sexy, has the most beautiful smile, flashing dark eyes, beautiful voice, sexy, has incredible masculine presence and oh, did I mention he was sexy????
I really don't get where you're getting pubic hair from and I'm guessing you're just trolling but whatever....he is incredible in a very Byronesque way.
There are a lot of hot bald guys as well, but I'll bet you're only attracted to boring pretty boys with no imagination, no presence and NO personality. Boo hoo to you!
"You have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you." Mr Darcy
Hi Nikki,
All of the above, of course, but you didn't mention his voice! It's really just rich and wonderful! And when he gives a great speech as, say, Ross Poldark, he's amazing! Plus, he really is a fabulous actor who makes you forget he's Aidan Turner and think he's really Ross Poldark or whatever other role he plays. He has a lovely Irish accent, not too much so you can't understand him easily, but he can do the RP English accent just fine as well, and he worked hard to get his Ross accent just right. I appreciate his dedication to his craft. BTW, his role as Ross Poldark has given him opportunities to shine in all kinds of situations and really allowed him to show his range from fights to love scenes.
Plus, he looks fabulous riding a horse and is able to get on and off with perfect grace.
I've had crushes on quite a few actors and singers over my rather long life, but he is one I've managed to see everything he's done on film that's available so far. He's always fascinating, and I can't take my eyes off him whenever he's on the screen. It's not just that he's handsome, he's just got tremendous charisma. I just want to hug him. Oh well, another dream shattered. So what else is new? LOL

yes Wendy you're right he has a lovely voice. I've never really thought of a man's voice before but i guess it can matter. I've had quite a lot of crushes in my life as well, but honestly apart from my first crush (a rock singer) when i was 16 i've never quite liked someone so much - meaning he's an all rounder, not just a few things here or there.
I've seen all of his stuff too and i'll be watching everything that comes out (but, to be fair i always watch movies + shows my guy or girl 'crushes' make, even if my crush fades i like to see what they've been up to).

My other crushes I also tried to find their projects to see, but a lot of times, they were just awful, and eventually I lost interest. Not everything Aidan has done has been fabulous, imho, but he always was. 😂

I was tempted to flag him, but I didn't want to get rid of the thread. It's always fun to talk about why we like Aidan Turner so much.😉

Noooo, don't flag him, this thread is too much fun. Besides i want the dude to answer, maybe he will...
Plus, i've wanted many times to post threads like these myself when it comes to certain celebrities that i don't like or when i just don't get someone's appeal.
but i guess that's human nature, if we'd all be attracted to the same things genetics would get the best of us.
