What happend with Camelot

I am a new ''fan'' and I just wanted to know why they didn't continue his show Camelot? Wow, it seems like a lot of people are down on him. I think he is good looking and can act. I think he is still growing as an actor. I cannot see all these casting Directors, casting him in Harry Potter, Twilight series, and Mortal Instruments if he couldn't hold his own as an actor. Also, he held his own in scenes with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers who despite all his crazy antics is an excellent actor. I understand people being upset about the casting of a favorite book such as, MI but, wow, it seems like most on the people on this board are even fans of his. Anyway, I hope to see more from him.

Camelot was poorly scripted, I watched until episode 5 and the story just did not move forward. I agree Campbell wasn't good in it, but other actors were pretty bad in it too. It also didn't help it premiered along with The Borgias and Game of Thrones which received better reviews at the time. I have seen JCB in Sweeney Todd and Anonymous and I was pleasantly surprised can't say the same for the awful Mortal Instruments though.

Thanks. I am a bit surprised by the outcome. It is a timeless story and Joseph Fiennes is a very good actor. I think you make a good point with so many shows such as, Tudors, Game of Thrones, Borgaiis, etc. anything similar to that would of had a difficult time. Plus, Starz is not like Showtime or HBO.

I did finally get to see some episodes of Camelot and I have to agree about the writing. I have to say so far, it seems a bit like shock and awe. I think I have made it to 7 and I have to agree with you that the story does seem a bit recycled. I will say I like JCB and Joseph Fiennes in it. I like his Merlin, a bit off, you know. Anyway, I will probably see it through to the 10th episode but, as much as I hate to admit it, the show was not great. I will say I liked the theme music though.

In my opinion it's because it's hard to base a show around a generally unlikeable character. It starts with him screwing his brothers girl and then FLIPS And all of a sudden we are supposed to support him. Morgana and merlin were amazing but the show is supposed to be about Arthur.
His character was flat. Better writing and less emphasis on how much of an ass he is in the first episode would have done wonders.

Yeah but really how much how bad Camelot was can be blamed on Jamie? He can only do so much with what script they give him
