She is neither Latin nor is Hispanic.

Hispanic means someone who speak Spanish.
Latin today is associated to who speak Spanish.

Portugueses, Frenchs, Italians, Angolans... all them speak a language derived from Latin but nobody calls them "latins".

Brazilians are not "latins", we are just Brazilians (and continentally South Americans).

She is British descendent of Brazilian, not "latin" or "hispanic"

reply

So? I'm Irish but people call me white all the time. It's an imperfect world with far greater troubles than what humans decided to create as a word to label you.

reply

Amen! Far greater troubles in the world like a young stranger going without a bra or dating an older man. We need not worry ourselves with such trivial issues such as race and ethnicity. We should be discussing important things like where on earth AnnaSophia Robb has wandered off to in the world?

reply

Wrong! Ignoring that Brazilians are not Hispanic or Latino is trying to nullify the Brazilians, whose culture, lifestyle, food and even behavior are very different from Latinos.
Trying to force an idea that Brazilians = Latinos is a form of fascist reductionism.

reply

Whatever. There's more to life than caring about labels. You know who you are, and that should be enough.

reply

There's more to life than caring about nipples and a strangers boyfriend.

blah blah blah

reading between the lines: I am a brazilian immigrant in the US and I hate being considered a person of color, I am desperate to be seen as white, so I am gonna yap non-stop about brazilians not being latin americans (which they are)

BTW here in Europe Italians are Latins, so are french, Spaniards and Romanians. So get over yourself and quit being annoying, you sound like you have a HUGE inferiority complex issue!

The term "Latin" is only valid in a linguistic context, to denote languages derived from Latin, hence "Latin America". It makes no sense in any other context.

That's why there's no such thing as a "Latin" ethnicity. The "latin" peoples lived in the Italic peninsula thousands of years ago and were the ancestors of modern Romans.

Your demented ideology prevents you from thinking rationally.

I am Brazilian from Brazil living in Brazil with a Brazilian culture (literature, music, food, etc) and language and Brazilian genetics. I have nothing to do with anyone living anywhere else on this planet.

Brazilians are Brazilians.

reply

Damn right she's not or she wouldn't be aging like bread. That girl is white.
