Lena Dunham Prefers Playing ‘Fucking Crazy Women,’ and Loves It When You Hate Her

Camping has an imdb rating of 4.2, and the reviews are even worse.

A forgettable article except this paragraph:

What kind of characters are appealing to you when they make those offers?

I like to play fucking crazy women. That’s the most interesting thing to me. I like to play crazy women. I mean, it’s public that I’m playing a Manson girl in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.” I played a noted attempted murderer in “American Horror Story.” When I did “Scandal,” I was a woman trying to con a senator who got her throat slit. I just want to go full intensity. I don’t want to play anybody’s sassy best friend who loves the buffet.

She is crazy AND it makes me hate her very much.

I have little interest in L Dunham but HATE is a very strong word. How many people do you not know in your personal life do you HATE ? Hate is a toxic thing, not something you want to go spreading around.

Weird she got cast in 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'. Tarantino usually has excellent casting.

She's Manson family. https://www.biography.com/people/catherine-share-20902967

When Share was 16, her adoptive mother, who had been diagnosed with cancer, killed herself, and her adoptive father abandoned her when he remarried. She entered college, but soon dropped out and embraced the hippie counterculture movement, spending her time smoking marijuana and taking LSD. In 1967, she met Bobby Beausoleil, a Charles Manson associate, on the set of a soft-porn film being shot at the Spahn Ranch, which would later serve as home base for the Manson "Family." Beausoleil introduced her to Manson, and Share found in him someone who had answers to all her questions, a Christlike figure who could take away all of the pain that Share had been accumulating. (Manson, who gave everyone on the ranch a nickname, dubbed Share "Gypsy.")
___

When Share was released in 1975, she disavowed allegiance to Manson and became a born-again Christian.

reply

To be fair, it was the kind of role she was born to play.

She's like one of those demons that thrives on negative energy and attention. There's only one way you can defeat such an annoyance. Ignore them and don't pay attention to them.

Clinical sociopath.
